Just check if you have the manual and read through. If there is any such feature, it would have been explained in the manual in detail. While it says that you can go back to anytime in the recording and start recording to modify the file, it does not say anything of the original Audio file being stored anywhere to bring it back. You probably did a quick format or your HDD was full formatted on prior to Windows Vists edition/s. In Windows Vista and higher, a full format on the other hand writes zeros to all sectors (other than the few partition data sectors), and therefore all data will be overwritten with zeros and hence become unrecoverable. Data in other sectors is still there and can be recovered with data recovery software though it will be some collection of files with no original name / folder /file structure. Įven in formatting, quick format only writes Partition data to a few specifically assigned sectors. I tried wise data recovery portable and to my surprise i came up with about 70,000+ files from 9 years ago, i didnt actually recover the files as it wanted me to pay for the PRO version and i didnt need them that bad.įree to recover 2 GB of data but it does cost about AU$120.00 for 12 month license to recover more, suppose it depends on how important your files are.
